Title: See for Miles

Summary: Even though they’re parted by a big ocean they can still see and reach each other.

wintersdancer, because she’s awesome. I got this vague but good prompt from her: "something with the sea in autumn/winter". I thought for a moment and this was what came up into my head. I had intended for it to be a drabble but it ended up way too long for a drabble but I guess that’s just good XP Anyway, I hope you all will enjoy this but please excuse me if there are any grammar/spelling mistakes. I’m too tired to re-read it again.

“Jin”
He smiled as he heard the other’s voice say his name through the phone from across the big ocean he was gazing out over.
“Kazuya” Jin replied in a voice as gentle as the wind caressing his cheeks. “Are you there?”
“Yes I am” Kame answered. “Are you?”
“Yeah” Jin smiled again and walked closer to the shore where the waves came rolling in.
“So can you?” Kame asked as Jin stepped into the water, not caring that his rather new shoes got completely wet. He just wanted to be as close as possible to Kame.
“Yeah” Jin squinted his eyes, as he looked out over the big blue ocean; the ocean that was separating him from Kame. “I can. You’re wearing the blue scarf my mum bought you for Christmas last year.”
“Yeah I am” Kame replied and Jin could tell that he was smiling. “I love that scarf. Did I ever tell your mum that?”
“You did.”Jin smiled again. “Several times”
“Good.” Kame said “I’m happy I brought it with me today because the wind sure isn’t nice on me this morning”
“Cold?” Jin asked a bit worried. Maybe this idea of his hadn’t been sucha good one after all.
“Just a bit chilly. Nothing to worry about” Kame reassured. “The scarf is keeping me warm, and I have some hot chocolate in a thermos back in the car. So don’t worry. What you should think about now is your show tonight. Make sure to give it your all, just like the shows before and like you will do on the last one in New York in a few days”
“You’re still coming to New York, right?” Jin took another step into the water which now was completely covering his feet and making his jeans wet as well.
“Of course I am” Kame sounded like Jin had asked something utterly stupid. “So get your feet back on dry land so that you won’t catch a cold. I don’t want to hear anything about you feeling ill on that day. I’m not coming all the way over just to play nurse”
“I wouldn’t mind you playing nurse” Jin mused, not the least surprised that Kame knew that he had walked into the ocean. After all, Kame could see him. Kame knew him. Kame knew him almost as well as he knew himself. Jin did as he was told though and backed his way out of the water.
“Stop imagining naughty things in your head” Kame said but his voice was anything but threatening as he let out a soft chuckle.
“Then don’t plant them there” Jin smirked.
“Are you out of the water?” Kame asked getting back on topic.
“Squint your eyes and see for yourself” Jin answered and then there was a short moment of silence before Kame spoke.
“I’m happy you listened to me but now you should get out of those wet shoes as quickly as possible. Do you have extra shoes with you in the car?” Jin didn’t get a chance to answer before Kame continued. “Oh, of course you don’t. You’re not as sensible as I am.”
“Yeah, and I didn’t even get here in my own car” Jin replied back.
“You didn’t? Then how did you get there?” Kame sounded a bit confused and Jin was sure that his eyebrows were slightly scrunched together as he spoke.
“Taxi. I got here in a taxi” Jin explained as he sat down on the sand. “If I had taken my car it would’ve been too obvious that I had left work”
“You got there without telling anyone?” Kame shrieked. “Have you any idea how much worry you’re causing? They’ll freak out when the star of the night isn’t there for the last preparations.”
“Don’t worry. I’ll make a call when I’m on my way back” Jin said and started to untie his shoes to get his feet free from the wetness. “If they knew what I’m doing they would never have let me go.”
“Promise me you’ll call as soon as we’ve hung up?” Kame said and then added “Good that you’re taking of your shoes.”
“Yeah, I don’t want to catch a cold” Jin smiled. “But now I’ll have to walk barefoot until I get hold of a taxi”
“Just be careful. Look out for broken glass so you don’t step on it” Kame warned. “Good thing it’s a sunny day though.”
“Yeah,” Jin agreed. “It’s been unusually hot the last two days”
“I wish I could be there with you instead of here in the cold” Kame replied. “The wind is getting stronger and I get the feeling it will start raining soon. I think I should get into the car”
“No, don’t go! If you get off then I won’t be able to see you anymore” Jin protested and got up from the sand quickly to walk closer to the shore again.
“Yes you can” Kame said and he was clearly smiling. “I parked just by the beach. I can see the ocean from it”
“That’s not the same” Jin sulked and stepped into the cold water with his bare feet.
“Get out of the water right away!” Kame ordered.
“But if you get away from the beach then I need to get closer to see you” Jin argued and Kame let out a big sigh.
“Okay, I’ll stay put if you back out of the water.” Kame sighed again. “I don’t want us to argue over something silly like this. Not when I haven’t been able to speak to you in a few days. Oh that reminds me. Mum told me to ask you the next time we spoke what you want for Christmas. I know it’s a bit early but you know my mum”
Jin chuckled as he backed his way up from the cold water.
“Tell her that the only thing I wish for is a taste of her delicious chocolate cake. Well from her at least” a mischievous smile appeared on Jin’s face. “From you I want something completely different, or maybe not so dif-”
“I can’t believe you start thinking about sex while we speak about my mum” Kame interrupted him. “You really must be horny.”
“Of course I am.”Jin replied. “I haven’t seen you for weeks and playing with myself isn’t all that fun in the long run”
“Lucky for you then that I got some days off to fly and see you then” Kame chuckled.
“Yeah. You have no idea how happy I was when you sent me that message” Jin chuckled as well. “Or, no, actually you do since I called you right after and –, you don’t have time for it again, right?”
“No, I have to drive off to work soon” Kame answered. “We have a morning meeting.”
“Oh, tell everyone I said hello” Jin picked up his shoes from the sand. “And tell Junno I couldn’t find that game he wanted. I can’t remember the name of it right now but he’ll know what you’re talking about”
“I will.” Kame answered. “We should try to arrange a dinner with the six of us when you’re back in Tokyo again”
“I’d like that.” Jin smiled and fell into deep thoughts. He didn’t regret his decision to go solo but sometimes he really missed the happy times he’d had with the bunch of them. He had been worried that they’d despise him, but they had, like the family he thought of them to be, been supportive. He was happy that he had been a part of a group like that, and still kind of was.
“You’re thinking about it again” Kame’s voice cut through his thoughts.
“Yeah I am” Jin couldn’t deny it, and he didn’t want to deny it. “KAT-TUN is the best”
“We sure are” Kame chuckled. “Be sure to support us. Buy all our new albums and singles and visit our concerts”
“Of course I will. I’m your biggest fan now” Jin replied amused. “I will support and love you till the day I die”
“Are you talking about KAT-TUN or just me, now?” Kame asked.
“Both” Jin replied. “I love you Kazuya”
“I love you too Jin” Kame’s voice was gentle and serious. “I really do. But now you should get back to work. I need to go too”
“Wave at me before you go?” Jin said, feeling a bit sad that they had to say good bye already.
“If you wave back” Kame replied and Jin could see the smile Kame was clearly showing as he spoke. Jin smiled back and then dropped his shoes to the ground so that he could use his left hand to wave. He couldn’t stop smiling at the thought that across the big ocean Kame was standing and waving back at him.
“Good bye Jin” Kame said. “Do a great show tonight and call your manager as soon as we hang up”
“I will.” Jin replied, typical Kame to remind him of something like that. “Bye Kazuya. I love you”
“I love you too” was the last words Jin heard from Kame before they hung up. Jin held his phone pressed to his ear for another moment as he continued to wave to Kame. He knew that Kame was doing the same and the thought of that made Jin all warm and fluffy inside. He knew that his idea of them looking at each other from opposite sides of the Pacific Ocean had been a silly one but sometimes silly is good. Silly is good when it makes you happy and Jin was happy and Kame was happy, as happy as they could be when being parted by a big, blue ocean.

I'm doing good but I'm more busy now than before since the family got a new puppy about a week ago and I am the one who feeds it and go out with it to pee and poop everyday. But it's okay because the puppy is so cute and nice and adorable *.*
