Title: I Don’t Read
Pairing: Akame

Summary: Kame loves to read, Jin doesn’t. (bad summary!)
A/N: Long time no see all my dear readers that is not on my f-list. I hope you’re all doing okay, I know I am doing great here in California.
Anyway, I actually started and almost finished this drabble on the plane to LA but I totally forgot about it until a couple of days ago and finished writing then. It’s not all that great but I hope you’re all will enjoy it anyway :)
Jin wasn’t very surprised when he walked in that morning to find Kame already there in the dressing room. He was however surprised when Kame apparently didn’t seem to have noticed his arrival and instead kept his full attention on the book in his hand. Jin frowned and dropped his bag down on the floor before proceeding to walk over to the other who was curled up in one corner of the cream coloured couch.
“Good morning Kame” He said as he stopped in front of Kame who merely lifted his hand in a lazy wave and mumbled his greeting back. Jin’s frowned deepened as he stayed put and glared the book in Kame’s hands. After staring at the book for a short moment his frown made place for childish curiosity since he noticed that there was a picture of a naked woman only wrapped in a blanket on the cover. She was sitting with her back to the spectator as she stared into the dark background. What was it that Kame was reading exactly?
“What is this?” Jin asked and grabbed the book from Kame who protested wildly and tried to get the book back from him but Jin just rushed to the other side of the room.
“He was a curious and very gentle lover, very gentle with the woman, trembling uncontrollably and yet at the same time detached, aware, aware of every sound outside”* Jin read out loud and then looked at Kame with wide eyes.
“Kame? Are you reading erotica? Erotic literature?”
“It’s a classic!” Kame replied back as he got up from the couch and walked towards Jin, glaring at him. “It’s Lady Chatterley’s Lover by D.H Lawrence”
“It looks like an erotic novel for middle aged women to me” Jin commented and looked at its cover again. “I had no idea you liked this kind of literature, Kame.”
“It’s a classic!” Kame repeated through gritted teeth. “And so what if it has some sex in it? Now give it back to me.”
“Sure” Jin shrugged and looked at Kame with amusement. “Where did you get it from anyway? And admit that you’re only reading it because of the sex”
“My brother recommended it to me and I am not” Kame said as he took the book again and returned to his place on the couch. Jin followed after and sat down next to him as Kame continued to read and engulf himself in the world of Lady Chatterley life. Jin looked at him for a short moment before he thought of something to entertain himself with. He wasn’t really happy that his best friend didn’t pay him any attention but he knew better than to annoy Kame anymore than he had already done. He pulled out his phone and started to play with it but grew bored within minutes and put it back into his pocket. He glanced over at Kame again as he slowly leaned in closer to read over his shoulder and soon Jin found himself getting drawn into the story.
“If you want to read it I can lend it to you after I have finished it” Kame mumbled when Jin had been reading over his shoulder for a couple of minutes.
“Huh? What?” Jin drew back and stared at Kame with confused eyes.
“The book.” Kame smirked. “I can lend it to you later if you want”
“There’s no need for that. I don’t read books” Jin tried to sound nonchalant even though he really did want to read it. He was just too proud to actually admit it after he had made fun of Kame reading that kind of literature.
“If you say so” Kame chuckled as he closed the book after putting a post card as a bookmark.
“Yeah I say so” Jin nodded and then looked in the direction of the door as he heard Ueda and Taguchi enter though it.
A week later Jin found the book lying in his bag after dance rehearsal for next week’s Shounen Club. He picked it up from his bag and he noticed that there was a small note sticking out from between the pages of the book. He pulled the note out and read it after making sure that none of the other juniors were paying him any attention.
The book was great. I’m sure you’ll enjoy it too if you ever give reading a chance. Just be careful with it and hand it back to me whenever you’re done. Even if it is years from now.
Jin folded the note and put it back in between the pages before he glanced over at Kame who was just a couple of feet away from him packing his own bag. Jin smiled and put the book back into his bag again.
“Thanks” he then called out and got the attention of everyone in the room.
“Who are you thanking?” Koki asked him with an raised eyebrow. “And for what?”
“Secret” Jin smirked as he looked around the room and then caught Kame’s eyes. “But the one I am thanking knows who he is and what I am thanking for”
Kame smiled at him and Jin smiled back before he grabbed his bag and then reached an hand out for Kame to take a hold of.
“Are you ready to leave Kame?” he asked.
“Yeah, I am” Kame replied taking a hold of Jin’s hand and his own bag before he let Jin lead him out of the once again buzzing dressing room.
