Summary: Kame arrives late, but he has a good and happy excuse.

unlle_os . They wanted me to write something fluffy because of the whole Jin/KaT-TUN issue and here it is. However, this drabble got nothing to do with that issue, and it is situated sometime maybe 4-5 years ago (before or just about the time of their debut). This drabble came to me quickly but I didn’t get to write it down until just now because of dinnertime, Midsomer Murders, So you Think You Can Dance and other things I did spending time with my family ^^
Jin was waiting in front of the small ramen shop. It wasn’t usual for Jin to be the one waiting for someone else to arrive since he more than often was the one being late and Jin hoped for it to stay that way in the future because waiting really isn’t much fun, and especially not when you’re hungry. He brought out his phone from his pocket and looked at the time. 13.05. Five minutes late, Jin frowned. It wasn’t like Kame to run late like that. He pocketed his phone again and as he threw a glance around him he saw Kame running up the street. His hair was slightly messy and he was clad in only a t-shirt and jeans despite the rain hanging in the air and threatening to start but on his face he was sporting a big smile.
“I am so sorry I’m late” Kame said once he was in front of Jin while he tried to regain his breath but his smile never faltered from his face. “I was at the hospital”
“Hospital?” Jin was confused. Why would Kame be sporting a smile like that if he had just seen the doctor? Maybe he had found out that he didn’t have some kind of incurable illness?
“I, we, just became uncles” Kame’s smile grew even bigger if that was even possible. “We have a niece!”
“We? But we’re not family” Jin said but smiled and then added yet in his mind.
“Of course we are!” Kame protested and looked at Jin clearly showing that what Jin had just said was something of the most ridicules things he had ever heard in his life. Jin didn’t mind that look directed at him this time though because the fact that Kame thought that way about him warmed his heart and made it flutter.
“So, uh, when did it happen? I mean when was she born?” Jin asked finally getting curious about the new addition to the Kamenashi family, his own second family.
“Just a few hours ago and I even got to carry her before I had to run to meet you” Kame beamed. “She’s the cutest thing ever!”
Of course she would be, Jin mused; after all she had the Kamenashi gens in her.
“If you’d wanted to stay longer you could just have called me and cancelled” Jin smiled at how genuinely happy Kame looked. He looked as if he had just found a treasure chest filled with jewels and old golden coins or gotten a brand new Ferrari from a secret admire or something along those lines. “After all I would’ve understood you ditching me for some cute girl” Actually he wouldn’t, at least not if it had been a girl that was their age or older and not a newborn.
“I would never ditch you for any girl” Kame replied and Jin was more than happy to hear that. “And anyway, I’ve been looking forward to you treating me for lunch. You are treating me, right?”
“Yeah, of course I am. After all I did, even if it was an accident, rip your trousers.” Jin said and pushed the door open to the restaurant. “Plus now I feel that I need to treat you to celebrate that you’ve just became an uncle”
“Wrong, we’ve become uncles.” Kame corrected him and Jin just smiled at him from over his shoulder as they entered the restaurant.
